Looking for words for some placeholder account names that aren’t too obviously aozora, but not too off either.. …and then I vaguely wandered off the path eh.

So ofc I rummaged a little over at vgperson’s japanese tag and other-wordly. And put random things through Google Translate.

I put in phantasmagoric

which surprisingly does have a translation in Japanese (despite auto-correct’s reluctance to accept the word hmph.)

変幻自在 ( Hengen jizai )

which synonym is also

移り変わる幻影のような ( Utsurikawaru gen’ei no yōna )

which means 

Come and go like a ghost.

Which is frankly a rather apt description, and a bit long for a name.  I don’t know how to asian-shorten it so.  Taking the words apart I get

• 移り変わる  ( Utsurikawaru)

= Come and go

• 移り // 移 ( Utsuri )

= Moved // Move / transition

• 変わる ( Kawaru ) 

= Changes    [ofc it’s 変 after all - ]

• 変 ( Hen )

= Strange [ hold on. ]

• 移り変わる幻影 (Utsurikawaru gen’ei )

= Ghosts come and go

• 幻影のような ( Gen’ei no yōna )

= Like a ghost.

• 変わる幻影のような (Kawaru gen’ei no yōna )

=  Like ghosts change // Like ghosts vary [ if I end with ‘.’ ] // Ghosts like change [if I end with ‘,’ or ‘;’ ]

• 移ような (Utsuri yōna)

= Such a move

• 移りわる幻影のような ( Utsuri waru gen’ei no yōna )

= Badass move like ghosts [ I AM CONFUSED. ]

• 移り変わる幻のような. (Utsurikawaru maboroshi yō na )

= It is like a phantom that come and go

• 移り変わる幻影のよな (Utsurikawaru gen’ei no yo na)

= do not come and go by the ghost [ a shortened ‘o’ sound can make such a difference :S ]

• 移な (Utsuri na)

= do not move

And so on and forth.

On another note, I tried to merge the characters for ‘fantastic’ and ‘sky’ and well.

空 (Sora) + 素晴らしい (Subarashī) = 空しい ( Munashii)

Sky + Fantastic = Vain
